We had received a request to design two complete wash rooms dedicated to cleaning a fleet of buses. The first room was equipped with an all-electric pressure washer, operating at 575 volts and providing 2000 psi of pressure at a flow rate of 8 gallons per minute. Additionally, it included a dual coil water heater with a capacity of 99 kW. To facilitate the cleaning process, the room had an 80-foot-long rail system on each side, allowing easy access to all bus areas. We installed a spring-loaded hose reel equipped with a 50-foot hose assembly and a double lance for optimal maneuverability. Additionally, two soap mixers had been integrated to ensure the precise dilution of soap needed to effectively clean the vehicle fleet.
As for the second laundry room, it was also equipped with an all-electric pressure washer operating at 575 volts, providing 2000 psi of pressure at a flow rate of 8 gallons per minute. Its water heater, with a capacity of 48 kW, ensured adequate water temperature for effective cleaning. Designed for more compact use, this room featured a 20-foot-long rail system on each side. Likewise, a spring-loaded hose reel with a 50-foot hose assembly and a double lance were present to facilitate cleaning. A soap mixer installed for soap dilution to meet the specific needs of the vehicle fleet.
In addition to this equipment, we also installed a DrainVac central vacuum with a spring-loaded reel for efficient suction of debris and residual liquids.
Reels are simple tools, but their importance in optimizing industrial and professional processes cannot be underestimated. Their contribution to the efficient management of coiled materials translates into significant improvements in operational efficiency, organization and safety in the various sectors where they are widely used.
