We have developed a specific configuration for an icebreaking trailer designed for the extreme conditions of Quebec's Far North. This trailer, designed to withstand freezing temperatures, measures 8 feet wide, 14 feet long and 6.8 feet high. It is equipped with axles adjusted to 5200 lb each, an embossed aluminum drawbar and lower door, wheel caps to protect against flying stones, an integrated loading light, and benefits from Reinforced insulation on the ceiling and walls with styrofoam and thermofoil, as well as a Luan finish covered with white plastic.
The floor is covered in Lyne-X with a non-slip edge, and a heating system is integrated to maintain an adequate temperature. We installed a stainless steel Hydro Tek pressure washer, powered by a powerful Kohler gasoline engine, providing 3000 psi pressure and 8.5 gpm flow rate, with a 550,000 BTU burner, pulley and belt driven . To ensure effective ventilation, an exhaust system with a chimney on the roof was added to vent gases outside.
The trailer is equipped with a 525 gallon horizontal tank securely attached with hoops. It also includes a spring-loaded hose reel with 100 feet of hose and a 12-volt electric hose reel with 300 feet of thermoplastic hose. Additional features include a tank with low level indicator, an overflow system, a bypass, and an anti-freeze device.
Wash trailers are often used at special events, trade fairs, car shows, company parking lots, private residences, service stations, shopping malls and other locations where vehicle washing is required or requested. They offer a practical, flexible solution to vehicle cleaning needs, without the need for permanent installations.
